ABOUT US
January 22, 1989, Harvesters Warehouse Pentecostal Church was founded under the pastoral leadership of Pastor John Scott, his wife Mary, and their 10 children. Although members were few, the church consisted of: The Adams Family, Bro. Allen Fitts, Sis. Debbie Smith, and Sis. Mary Barber. Harvesters started hosting services inside of a little blue house on 411 North College Street where Pastor Scott combined two rooms to create a sanctuary inside the house. It also included a beauty salon and two additional rooms.
Harvesters were always filled with the glory of God. The Spirit of God would come in unexpectedly while cleaning, rehearsing songs, and take over. Within the first year, two more families were added to the church: the Bigbee and the Detherage family. However, Pastor Scott and his family were forced to relocate due to his job and Pastor Fredrick Hill became the interim pastor for one year. In the third year, the church was without a pastor and crying out for someone to lead and God called Sis. Cressie Mae Adams to become his mouthpiece for Harvesters. Pastor Cressie Adams accepted the call and her husband, Co-Pastor Thomas Adams became the church cheerleader. God revealed to her the founding scriptures of the church: Matthew 5:8, Matthew 16:18, 1 Corinthians 2:9, and Luke 13:29. Under her leadership, spiritual growth started and revealed itself through the members. In 1995, Pastor Adams added to the back of the house and created a larger sanctuary, which is now the fellowship hall. Pastor Cressie and Co-Pastor Thomas Adams worked overtime developing the church and expanding the ministry. Harvesters includes the five-fold ministry, street ministry, nursing home ministry, feeding ministry, spiritual dance team, jail ministry, flag ministry, youth ministry, puppet ministry, praise and worship team, radio broadcast ministry, women and men’s ministry, single’s ministry, marriage ministry, Pastor’s Aide, Deacon Board, Usher, teacher, Women’s home, healing and deliverance ministry. In 2012, God gave Pastor Adams a vision to build a new sanctuary on the front of the lot and ground was broken to expand the church again.
God’s hand is on this ministry and greater blessings are coming. Our mission is to love everyone, save souls, teach holiness, help people get deliverance from the powers of darkness, and send out disciples to do greater works for the Kingdom of God. (Everyone say the church motto together) And we will rise, shine, and give God the glory.
